On Stage With Bamboleo At 21 In Cuba

As a French countryside musician, it was pretty unreal to end up playing on stage with one of the most famous and modern salsa bands, Bamboleo. I was 21 years old.

Carlos "El Bola" Betancourt was one of my mentors at the time. He was a music director for the best Cuban bands and an elite trumpet player. While I was staying in Santa Suarez in Havana, he randomly introduced me to Lazaro Valdes, the music director for Bamboleo. Lazaro told me they were performing that night and that I should come and play... It happened!
